Program Description

North Stars Cheer was founded in 2009. There are 3 competitive cheer teams at this time, and the competition teams consist of boys & girls ages 3 - 18. Although the team is in its first year, they have already taken top awards home at national level.

North Stars Cheer have a "commitment to excellence", so the students can improve their quality of life both athletically and spiritually. This includes, but is not limited to, personal relationships and team building skills, poise, grace, self-discipline, and mostly self esteem. North Stars offers open cheerleading , for those not interested in competing can take beginner or advanced classes, competitive cheer, and tumbling classes for all levels and abilities. Students can participate for fun or at a competitive level.

Cheerleading is a physical activity, and a competitive sport, using organized routines, ranging from one to three minutes. These routines contain the components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting that the team participates in competitions. The squad prepares year-round for many different competition appearances, but they only actually perform for up to 2 minutes during their routines.

The individuals on these teams become more than just team mates, they become family. The instructors are always at competition with the teams and promote the team mates to have great spirit for other teams as well as their own. North Stars is not concerned with how many trophies a student can bring home, but rather that they enjoy themselves and are proud of their achievements.
