Program Description

The art of high level epee fencing is a beautiful thing to watch and be a part of when competing. Epee is the Three Musketeer blade and with your whole body as target area this blade is best explained as "High Speed Chess". In this program, you will learn more advanced footwork: Fleche (running attack), double-advance lunge and defensive escape moves. As you advance, power moves relevant to your weapon will be taught. We teach you upper level "bread-and-butter" (B&B) moves to win bouts by learning how to "steal the distance" from opponents. You will learn how to use the clock to your advantage when competing. Red Rock Fencing Center teaches you the fencing strip in detail and how it can be used to your advantage. Your complete understanding of the rules is now applied to strip tactics. You learn how to win bouts by knowing the rules.

You will be required to help with Club Tournaments and UFF (United Fencing Federation) Tournaments when needed. This level of fencing will require you to join Red Rock Fencing Center and the UFF in order to compete. You must have your own fencing equipment at this level. You may come to as many classes you want to per month. There is no limit as to how many classes you can come to. The more the better!

Red Rock Fencing Center features state of the art competition scoring machines; ergonomic flooring and the latest camera set ups including slow motion replays for tournament and private lesson uses. Red Rock Fencing Center is known for the family atmosphere and open friendliness all members give to each other and all new comers. They offer an intense workout program for those who need it for high level results.

Red Rock Fencing Center is under the direction of our Head Coach & Fencing Master Frank Van Dyke, 5-Time World Cup Finalist, multiple time Nevada Champion in all three weapons and 2010 United Fencing Federation Coach of the Year.
